A GREAT second half display by the Wexford under-14 team saw them take the points in their Inter League game against Cavan at Curracloe on Sunday.  The visitors were welcomed to the venue following their three and a half hour journey, which saw up to three feet of snow in placed along the way.
They certainly showed no signs of tiredness after their long trip as they matched Tommy Byrne’s team in every sector of the field.
Cavan were a goal up at half time, but Wexford took over after the break and hit five, eventually winning on a 5-2 scoreline. John Roche scored twice, while Johnny St. Ledger, Graham Staples and team captain Kevin O’Connor also found the net. Niall Clerkin and Caolan Reilly were Cavan’s goal scorers.
The match officials were Stephen Hadley (referee); Michelle O’Neill and Charlie Stacey (assistant referees).
