UNDER-10 CUP FINAL 2010 (Wally Doyle Memorial Cup)

Albion take honours in all-action decider

Wexford Albion 2   Gorey Rangers 0

THE U10 Cup final was an all-action clash with little separating the young stars of Albion and Gorey Rangers.

The Wexford town club were going for the double while cup holders Gorey were trying to retain the trophy and the first half saw chances at both ends.

Albion’s Dylan O’Regan had two shots on goal saved by Lee Kenny before Albion keeper Adam Dempsey denied Caellum Devlin.

There was no score at the break, but Sam O’Neill rattled the Gorey crossbar early in the second half and then put Albion ahead with a spectacular long-range strike.

The Wexford club’s second goal arrived when Dylan Breen finished Aaron Kinsella’s header over the line near the end.

Luke O’Neill was announced as Man of the Match as Wexford Schoolboys League representative Willie Wallace presented the trophies to the winners and to the gallant losers.
