Wexford U15s Tame 'The Cats'
The Wexford under-15s were away to Kilkenny on Sunday last and recorded a terrific 3-1 win.
Kilkenny took the lead after 10 minutes and at that stage were well on top as Wexford were very slow to settle. It could have been worse, but for Wexford goalkeeper James Flood who brought off two very good saves.
The game then turned around completly. A long clearance from Stephen Kehoe found Timmy Dwyer who shot the teams level. Wexford piled on the pressure and 10 minutes later they took the lead.
A cross from Dale Galway deceived the Kilkenny keeper and the alert Timmy Dwyer came in at back post to tap in.
At this stage it was all Wexford and 10 minutes before half time a shot from Alan Rhodes from 18 yards went all the way to the net.
There was no further scoring in the second half, but keeper Flood made some very good saves.
The only low point was the injury to Wexford’s outstanding central defender Ciaran Walsh who sustained a broken wrist and will be out of action for a number of weeks.
The Schoolboys Committee and the U15 Managment team wish Ciaran a speedy recovery.
