Leisuremax welcomed as sponsors
THE WEXFORD and District Schoolboys League has welcomed Leisuremax as sponsors this season. Players in the U9, U10, U11, U12, U14 and U16 age groups are in action, representing 46 affiliated clubs, seeking honours at local and national level.
The Leisuremax U9 and U10 leagues are non-competitive and all participants will receive certificates at the end of the season.
Coincidentally, this is the 25th anniversary of the last time the league was re-vamped in the 1985-’86 season when eight clubs were affiliated in a streamlined ‘even-age’ league.
Wexford Albion, North End, Bunclody, Ross Blues, Ballycanew, Rosslare, Adamstown and Curracloe/Bridge Rovers fielded 19 teams between them in four divisions that season, a far cry from the 260 teams competing in 35 Divisions in 2011/12.
We wish everybody the best of luck over the season and thank Aileen and all at Leisuremax for their support. And don’t forget - check the website on Fridays for fixtures changes.
